About Lindsay Stitches

Hi friends, thanks for stopping by!

My name is Lindsay (aka Lindsay Stitches) - I’m a hand embroidery artist originally from lutruwita (Tasmania) and currently living near Walyalup (Fremantle) on Whadjuk Noongar Boodja in Western Australia.

I have been practising embroidery for over ten years, during which time I have stitched many different subjects and completed several long-term projects, namely my 2020 and 2022 embroidery journals and my 2021 embroidery phenology wheel. Apart from making me an expert at stitching tiny things, these projects allowed me to share my stories, skills and knowledge, explore new possibilities and opportunities, grow my online community, as well as make a bunch of actual real life friends.

Now, I’m narrowing the focus of my embroidery work so that I can create the things that I’m really passionate about. My love for road trips, small towns and local businesses in Australia offers a unique source of inspiration for my work, and is the driving force behind my main goal: to stitch 100 embroidery pieces inspired by places around Australia.

So often our memories, stories and goals are attached to a specific place, and I love creating work with a theme that has such an incredible ability to evoke a sense of nostalgia, belonging, and adventure. As a low-cost, easily portable and inevitably conversation-starting craft, embroidery has been and will forever be my ideal travel companion.

Thanks for visiting my website, let’s chat soon!
